NOVA Onsite Coin & Bullion Testing can also test your coin collection to give you peace of mind.

Our Process & Methods
For commonly available coins like the US gold and silver Eagles, US historic gold and silver coins, and modern coins from major nations, three tests can be normally be done.

-
Surface and Thru Resistivity
-

-
X-ray Fluorescence
-
Magnetometer
For graded coins in plastic slabs (NGC/PGCS), two tests can be done
along with a visual inspection.
-
Thru Resistivity
-
Magnetometer
-
X-ray Fluorescence
For bullion bars, the test used is determined
by the size of the bar,
and the packaging it is in.

Our goal is to test every coin or bullion product with at least 2 independent tests.
Our goal is to satisfy both buyer and seller, at the point of transaction, that the coins or bullion used in the transaction are real. When the buyer and seller are satisfied that the coins or bullion are authentic, both will sign a statement to that fact. Once the coins or bullion are no longer under the control of NOVA Onsite Coin & Bullion Testing, the chain of custody is broken, and no further guarantees can be given.
Test results will place coins in one of 3 categories: verified, fake, undetermined.
The X-ray fluorescence (XRF) device outputs a report for all items tested.
A Note on Counterfeits
The world is being flooded with fake gold and silver coins, bullion bars, and graded coins. A quick internet search will show that anything can be faked and made to look real. Don’t be a victim.

According to our research Chinese counterfeiters are flooding the US, and Europe with very high quality fake US silver dollars, gold coins, gold bars – you name it. We would call this a disaster for the investor, and our big fear is there are probably tens of thousands of investors in the United States, who have been duped.
